About the role

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role within the finance team, owning core systems, the procure to pay cycle, and components of the monthly close process and their bookkeeping. This is a large role within a small entrepreneurial team and you will work closely with our Controller, auditors and other internal and external stakeholders. Since a large part of success is making processes and predictable work more efficient, a passion for technology and experience automating repetitive work is critical.

What you'll do

  • Take responsibility for the definition, processes, systems, execution and success of AP, from procure to pay

  • Reduce manual work by leveraging technology (systems, integrations, AI) across all areas of accounting

  • Own parts of the close process and prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations

  • Assist with annual audits and tax filings. Work closely with the Controller to ensure compliance across all entities

  • Support the establishment and enhancement of a strong internal control environment

  • Supervise contractors performing repetitive tasks, continually improving efficiency

  • Dive into ad hoc projects across all areas of accounting and finance as required as part of a growing startup team

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting role, real estate or software experience preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing deadlines and changing priorities

  • Robust analytical skills, effective problem solving and attention to detail

  • Experience and a passion for using modern technology to automate work

  • Strong business sense and understanding of how accounting supports company results

  • Resourcefulness and the ability to challenge the status quo and separate good from perfect

  • High alignment with our values of Learning, Excellence, Truth, Service, Goodness, and Ownership

  • Netsuite experience
