About the role

This role is responsible for the technical E2E support personnel of the enterprise file transfer platform. We are looking for a technical candidate, who can work well with other technical and business stakeholders. Ideally, they have some level of experience with SFTP/MFT solutions to provide the foundation for secure, compliant, and maintainable file transfers within a large company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the building, maintenance and operational support of the SFTP infrastructure in a mission critical computing environment.
  • This position is responsible for providing technical support (Primarily IBM Sterling) and associated hardware and operating systems relevant to the Enterprise Managed File Transfer function.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination and execute change management processes. Includes monitor performance of the SFTP solutions and act on changes.
  • Respond to SFTP application outages and perform routine maintenance on assigned applications.
  • Perform routine changes as assigned and according to change management procedures.
  • Provide level 1 and 2 support for projects and implemented SFTP applications and infrastructure.
  • Identify, isolate, and troubleshoot issues and drive development of solutions.
  • Assist with capacity planning to ensure SFTP application is scaled to meet current and projected capacities.
  • Maintain version, patch, and security levels, in accordance with the strategic direction of the company.
  • Collaborate with business and client teams as required across the organization.
  • Provide consultation to all stakeholders directly or indirectly affected by the SFTP application.
  • Manage work queues and track user issues and requests through ServiceNow as required.
  • Develop and document procedures, policies, and best practices.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in the technical analysis and implementation of SFTP (preference for IBM Sterling core products).
  • Knowledge in industry standard protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, FTP, EDI, AS2, Connect: Direct, WebDAV, JMS)
  • Experience with PGP encryption/decryption.
  • Experience with monitoring the performance and availability of the environment to identity problems early and prevent them from recurring.
  • Understanding of business requirements and transforming them into process automation
  • Must possess analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Proactively communicate status updates to the Leadership across IT/Business Teams.
  • Familiarity with basic system administration tools and processes required.
  • Infrastructure technical skills or knowledge in position-related areas; and the ability to keep current with that knowledge and trends in areas of expertise.
  • Understanding of security fundamentals and ability to enforce standards within SFTP configurations.
  • Ability to work independently and exhibit excellent interpersonal and team skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (3-5 yrs experience)
