About the role

This role will maintain and develop the data governance and management function for a cross-regional account, supporting the individual region’s context, but aiming at global alignment. At the first stage, the role will focus on data transition in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and workstreams to build the foundations for the ongoing data management. Afterwards, the responsibilities will primarily include building, developing and maintaining a solid and long-term data governance program aimed at reducing organizational risks coming from poor quality of real estate and contract data.

This position will report to the APAC Regional Data Governance Lead; however it will include also EMEA part of the account in scope. The position will be embedded in the Data Governance structures of JLL Technologies, which creates the optimal environment to support the business with data & tech know-how and best practices.

Specifically, this position will involve:

Transition Phase

  • Coordination and control of the master data set for the Contract
  • Coordination of incoming data and distribution to relevant workstreams
  • Coordination of issues and gaps in data, including the tracking of requests for data to the client, receipt of data and accuracy and version control
  • Maintenance of the virtual library data set and control of such documents and versions such that data is filed in the agreed file structure and most up to date is accessible to relevant personnel
  • Collection of and further communication of issues and roadblocks
  • Functioning as single point of contact for data-adjacent communication for both internal teams and external client
  • Close collaboration with Master Data Management transition team

Ongoing service afterwards

  • Following the guidance from the broader Data Governance team, development and maintenance of the client account level Data Governance policies, processes, and data standards
  • Development of Client Account data governance and management framework across service lines to ensure data consistency and integrity
  • Ongoing monitoring of data quality, data administration, investigation and driving remediation
  • Ownership of data investigation of data discrepancy and data flow between systems, identify root issues and refresh cycles between different source systems, databases and dashboards
  • Collaboration with the account to ensure applicability and suitability of the data quality checks
  • Master Data Management for critical data elements – oversight and gatekeeping of standards
  • Daily business communication and relationship building with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to solve ongoing data issues and democratize knowledge on data, including development of mature Data Stewardship program
  • Creation and maintenance of the Data Dictionaries
  • Facilitating meetings with data consumers, data stewards, data producers and other stakeholders to ensure data governance rules and standards are applied to data related changes/ projects
  • Partnering with IT, BI and service lines counterparts to understand the business context for data management activities
  • Identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions regarding data quality and processes
  • Supporting the account in knowledge management by establishing and documenting data flows and processes

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of data governance / data management related experience in an enterprise environment across multiple application systems and business functions
  • Strong experience in client relationship management
  • Experience in a role of business analyst or similar
  • Familiarity with database management processes
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to make effective decisions and solve problems
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle and maintenance processes
  • Good understanding of data quality management
  • Knowledge of data governance and how it impacts business processes
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

Skills

  • Relationship management skills: excellent listening and consultative capability, the ability to influence and negotiate with business and technology partners to drive change, and the ability to take a broad perspective and make key connections
  • Demonstrated information management, analytics and data profiling skills. Control, compliance, audit, risk management and relevant experience in risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and remediation will be helpful.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the overall information and analytics space.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Strong negotiation and group facilitation skills; ability to move a process forward, while meeting the needs of a variety of clients.
  • Ability to work with various levels of peers including analysts, developers and executives regarding complex business and data related issues.
  • Consulting and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to facilitate mission-critical projects. Manage task timelines and deliverable schedules, recognize and share risks and roadblocks.
  • Collaborative, imaginative, resourceful, reliable, technically savvy.
  • Superior ability to manage, manipulate and analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations using technology. Articulate the issues and resolutions via business-friendly communications. Serve as primary day-to-day contact for regional data management issues.
  • Good understanding of data quality management. Knowledge of data governance and how it impacts business processes.
