We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our enterprise team, currently focused on WordPress development related to Commercial Real Estate (CRE). In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging WordPress and its related technologies to create innovative solutions for the CRE industry. You will be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, responsible for delivering high-quality and scalable WordPress-based applications.

Responsibilities:

1. WordPress Development: Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and extensions tailored specifically to meet the requirements of the CRE industry. Apply your expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build robust and efficient WordPress solutions.

2. CRE Integration: Integrate WordPress applications with third-party APIs, databases, and systems commonly used in the CRE domain, such as property management systems, MLS (Multiple Listing Service) platforms, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools, and data analytics frameworks.

3. Front-end Development: Collaborate closely with designers and UX specialists to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive and visually appealing WordPress themes. Implement modern front-end frameworks and libraries to enhance the user experience.

4. Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in WordPress applications, optimize code, database queries, and asset delivery to ensure fast and efficient page load times. Utilize caching mechanisms and content delivery networks (CDNs) for optimal performance.

5. Security and Maintenance: Implement best practices for WordPress security, ensuring robust protection against vulnerabilities, malware, and unauthorized access. Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates, backups, and monitoring of WordPress sites.

6. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of WordPress applications to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements. Collaborate with QA team members to perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing as necessary.

7. Documentation and Collaboration: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, code documentation, and deployment processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and stakeholders, to ensure effective communication and alignment of project objectives.

Sounds like you? To apply, you need to be:

1. Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in CMS development (WordPress), with a focus on custom theme and plugin development. Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining complex WordPress applications for enterprise clients.

2. Strong WordPress Skills: Deep understanding of CMS/WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, hooks, and filters. Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., jQuery, React) used in WordPress development. Headless development a major plus.

3. CRE Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Commercial Real Estate (CRE) concepts, terminology, and industry-specific requirements is highly desirable. Experience integrating WordPress with CRE-related systems, such as property management platforms or MLS databases, is a plus.

4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into practical WordPress solutions. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.

5. Performance Optimization: Solid understanding of performance optimization techniques for WordPress applications, including caching mechanisms, asset minification, and CDNs. Experience with tools like GTmetrix or Google PageSpeed Insights is advantageous.

6. Security Awareness: Knowledge of WordPress security best practices, including secure coding practices, user authentication, and protection against common vulnerabilities. Familiarity with security plugins and tools (e.g., Wordfence, Sucuri) is beneficial.

7. Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide guidance on WordPress-related matters.

8. Continuous Learning: Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, developments, and emerging technologies. Active participation in relevant forums, communities, or conferences is a plus.
