What this job involves

JLL Technologies Data Engineering & Platform team is seeking data professionals to work with our colleagues at JLL around the globe in providing solutions, developing new products, building enterprise reporting & analytics capability to reshape the business of Commercial Real Estate using the power of data.

We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer (or Director, Data Engineering) who is self-starter to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment that can join our Enterprise Data & Platform Engineering team. This is an individual contributor role (manager role can be considered but hands-on experience required) that is responsible for designing and developing data solutions that are strategic for the business and built on the latest technologies and patterns. This is a global role that requires partnering with the broader JLLT team at the country, regional and global level by utilizing in-depth knowledge of data, infrastructure, technologies and data engineering experience.

What we are looking for/ Responsibilities:

  • 10+ years’ overall work experience and bachelor's degree in information science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in science, business, or social science.

  • Individual with strong tech industry background and minimum of 6 years of experience with using or implementing Cloud technologies related to data with AWS, Azure or Google.

  • Developed systems that ingest, cleanse and normalize diverse datasets, develop data pipelines from various internal and external sources

  • Someone who could drive and execute data platform strategy towards modern data & tech architecture and support multi cloud technologies to meet key business objectives.

  • Has exposure building a modern data stack by conducting POCs and partner with platform architects, product managers and software engineers to validate solution proposals

  • Hands-on engineering lead who is curious about technology, should be able to quickly adopt to change and one who understands the technologies supporting areas such as Cloud Computing, Micro Services, Streaming Technologies, Network, Security etc

  • Assist in building and evolving the future generation fit for purpose technology architecture and organization to meet the needs of business. Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies and providing digital thought and technical leadership.

  • Individual who has demonstrated influencing skills related to data & platform solutions with stakeholders and leadership team

  • Working with legal, privacy, regulatory, and other functions to pave the road for data solutions.

  • Team player, reliable, self-motivated, and self-driven individual capable of executing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment working with cross functional teams.

  • Offer hands-on leadership geographically distributed engineering teams, encouraging technical excellence and promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. As a leader, you will provide mentorship and strategic direction to the team, ensuring projects align with organizational goals.

  • Participate & influence in the evaluation, execution and rollout of Generative AI solutions and platform technologies in the evolving AI landscape.

Estimated compensation for this position is:

215,000.00 – 225,000.00 USD

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
