What this job involves: About the role

JLL Capital Markets Group - Value & Risk advisory provides risk analytics and advice across the capital stack to help our clients identify and manage risks in their real estate assets and portfolio.

Within JLL Technologies, to support business ambitions, we are developing a platform that collects data from number of sources and uses AI and data science to extract Risk analytics and insights to enable our clients make fast and optimal business decisions.

We are currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer specializing in full stack testing to join our JLL Technologies - Risk advisory engineering team as a full-time employee. The role is responsible for testing front end application functionality, Backend Services/API, ETL processes, data model output validation and assurance for internal and external technical solutions that enable various risk advisory services - AVM, Market liquidity, Socio demographic and sustainability risks of real estate assets and analytics for client portfolios. The role involves hands on technical quality engineering and automation activities.

Ideal candidates will have a blend of software & data engineering and Quality engineering experience, financial expertise, and an interest in real estate, and they will use this combination of skills solve a variety of needs for our value and risk advisory business teams and clients.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for E2E Quality engineering activities for Risk Advisory – Shared component eco system across front end, back end, data model components and API Services.
  • Work closely with Product Management, UI/UX Design and business stakeholder teams to turn requirements into acceptance criteria and scenarios.
  • Creation and implementation of comprehensive Quality engineering strategy and plan for new /existing software covering:
    • Testing of components and sub-components, ETL testing, Data model validation, API services verification
    • Unit testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, Regression testing, user acceptance testing and post deployment testing phases
    • Automate-First approach for testing & drive effective quality engineering practices in project.
  • Develop comprehensive quality gates and sign off process working with product team, engineers, data engineers/scientists, and business teams to ensure a high bar of quality is implemented across product life cycle.
  • Develop test cases based on requirements and required coverage to assure software meets project specifications and design.
  • Plan and document test data needs to ensure business requirement are covered in testing process.
  • Develop & Implement automation testing framework with Automate-first approach for various components of Risk Advisory – Shared component ecosystem.
  • Execute test plans covering all different testing types / phases with a keen eye to identify, troubleshoot and resolve defects and issues in our product.
  • Perform research and exploratory testing with a focus on identifying and documenting defects.
  • Review defects and test logs to identify root causes and suggest solutions for improving testing, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing & production implementation activities.
  • Set/adopt and Support existing development standards and processes (e.g., solution structure, DevOps processes, source control strategy, testing frameworks) for the project team.
  • Work with central teams to manage DevOps environment – SCC, CI/CD, test automation, etc.
  • Support evaluation 3rd party solutions, products, tools, and libraries for use in product ecosystem.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Mandatory:
    • Experience functioning as Senior quality engineer and/or team/technical lead with strong understanding of Quality engineering best practices.
    • Expertise in at least one programming language - preferably JavaScript or Python and proficient in .Net Core.
    • Expertise in E2E testing across web, back-end, web / API services, ETL/Databricks notebook testing, SQL procedure testing, Data model validation and verification.
    • Experience in QA Test automation frameworks e.g. Selenium, Cypress
    • Highly proficient in testing applications in cloud ecosystem Azure / AWS covering.
      • Cloud identity management and authentication services, e.g. Okta
      • API development and management services, e.g. Azure APIM
      • Management and configuration of Azure Cloud services (e.g. app services, VMs, security, storage, etc.)
      • Infrastructure as a code and IAC tools like terraform.
    • Strong understanding of SCC and CI/CD using GitHub Enterprise and/or Azure DevOps
    • Experience with performance tuning, high availability concepts, and disaster recovery
    • Strong understanding of Application Security e.g. Snyk, Wiz scan report analysis and testing remediation fixes
    • Strong understanding Networking concepts, e.g. DNS, SSL, firewalls, CDNs, etc
  • Advantageous:
    • Knowledge of testing applications built using AI & machine learning technologies – ML Ops using databricks.
    • Knowledge of Search technologies, e.g. Elasticsearch and/or Azure Search
    • Knowledge of GIS/mapping technologies and APIs, e.g., Mapbox, Google Maps, ArcGIS, etc

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or engineering
  • Must have at least 10+ years’ experience working in software quality engineering / data quality engineering with complex ecosystem and manage complex business requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to effectively multitask.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile Methodologies and principles.
