About the role

The Senior Quality Assurance engineer would be responsible for the development and ongoing implementation of Information Technology strategic plans related to Software Quality Assurance. The Sr. engineer would be expected to define and implement quality principles and standards, including defining and implementing appropriate test strategies and effective measurement programs. They would also recruit staff and mentor QA team members.

Responsibilities

• Create or modify test plans and test cases/scripts for execution.
• Communicate with development team to ensure project deliverables are on target.
• Ensure that requirements, test case documentation and defect tracking information are logged into supporting test tools and that regular reports are generated.
• Review status reports to ensure that the test team is following the overall test strategy document, and the test strategy as it applies to each test plan.
• Prepare testing status reports for the project managers and senior management.
• Verify the quality of the requirements, including testability, and trace the test procedures to the test requirements.
• Make recommendations on how to improve and enhance software usability and functionality.
• Coordinate with developers and application owners to resolve issues.
• Stay current on latest test approaches and tools and transferring this knowledge to test team members.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Candidates should have experience with tools like Selenium for front-end testing using C# and dotnet framework.
• They should have experience in API testing, either with market-available tools or custom scripts.
• They must be skilled in creating reusable testing scripts that integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• They should be capable of writing and automating complex SQL queries and testing database code.
• They must have the ability to conduct QA testing, interpret test results, and document outcomes meticulously.
• Good to have knowledge on Cypress automation.

Experience & Education

• 9+ years of IT Experience with 7+ years of Hands-On Quality Assurance Experience
• B Tech / M Tech / MCA degree on any specialization
• 9-12+ years of experience in information technology: Software engineering or testing automation.
• Strong problem solving and analytic skills
• Working knowledge of the SDLC and QA Life Cycle
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
