The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, focusing on high-speed modular home manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, enhance product quality, and reduce costs. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process Development and Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize high-speed manufacturing processes for modular home production to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Project Management: Manage and execute engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth production operations.
  • Equipment and Tooling: Design, specify, and procure manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures tailored to high-speed modular home production requirements.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement and maintain quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices and new technologies in high-speed modular home manufacturing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless integration of new products into the production process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on process improvement and project management in high-speed modular home manufacturing or a similar fast-paced industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, machining, and testing specific to high-speed modular home production.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and experience with manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to drive decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to high-speed modular home manufacturing.

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $150,000 - $170,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
